In another breakthrough Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Satvinder Singh under the close guidance of Senior Officer got the major success by arresting the gang of snatchers, who recently snatched a Gold Chain from an old lady from Sector 33, Chandigarh.
On 2.5.2023 complainant reported that at about 6.40 am when she was coming from terrace garden after a morning walk, meanwhile a white colour car came towards her and a girl from the car, came to her and snatched away her gold chain with diamond locket.
During interrogation Manpreet Kaur disclosed that while Binder was driving the car, she snatched the gold chain and they gave it to Prince and Khusi Kumari for selling, who would come to meet them at the park. Later on, Prince and Khusi Kumari were also apprehended and one piece of gold chain was recovered from the possession of Prince and other piece from Khusi Kumari. Accordingly all were also arrested in FIR No. 53 dated 2.5.2023 U/S 379A,411 IPC PS-34, Chandigarh on 4.5.2023.
During the course of investigation, acting upon the secret information Binder Kumar and Manpreet Kaur were apprehended on 4.5.2023 from the parking area of Leisure Valley Park, Sector 10, Chandigarh alongwith car No. PB10DC-0029, used in Crime.e accused identified as Binder Kumar R/o Gali No.8, Panch Peer nagar, Sahar Abohar Distt. Fazilka, Punjab. Aged 22 years., Manpreet Kaur @ Saran R/o Vill. & PS. Nihal Singh wala Distt. Moga, Punjab. Aged 28 years., Prince r/o # 99, Sat Kartar Enclave, Chopra Colony, Basti Sekh. Jalandhar. Aged 23 years and Khusi Kumari R/o Vill. Fattuwal PS. Mukerian Distt. Hoshiarpur. Aged 24 years.
RECOVERY: Snatched Gold Chain , Car No. PB10-DC-0029 used in crime
REASOM BEHIND SNATCHING: All the accused are drug addict and to fulfil their needs of drug, they planned for snatching gold chain, for this, Binder Kumar and Manpreet Kaur @ Saran executed their plan and remaining two Prince and Khusi Kumari were to sell the snatched gold chain. All were produced in the court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Investigation is still in progress.
