In a unique initiative, a documentary on the life of Swami Keshwanand, veteran freedom fighter and former MP has been planned by Rajasthan's well-known theatre artist and philosopher Raman Atreya.

He along with Deepak Saharan, his main associate, visited Sahitya Sadan that the octogenarian saint had founded, and captured pictures of the ancient library, dispensary and Swami Keshwanand Senior Secondary School. The duo was welcomed by former Panchayat Committee Chairman Ravikant Rinwa,

Lekhak Parishad president Raj Sadosh and Anil Siyag, a scion of the Siyag family of Jhumianwali village, who had given shelter to Swamiji in his childhood. The guests were presented with a memento and books.

Atreya said that he had also gone to Mangluna village, the birthplace of Swamiji, where the child Birma was born and after being separated from his parents during the famine, Birma reached Abohar and took shelter in Jhumianwali village. Later, he lived in Arya Anathalaya Ferozepur and Sadhu Ashram Fazilka. Apart from Sahitya Sadan in Abohar and Gramotthan Vidyapeeth in Sangria, Swamiji established more than 250 schools.

The duo said that the deep devotion in their hearts towards Swamiji inspired them to prepare the documentary. Their endeavour is to meet the families who were in contact with Swamiji and preserve their experiences. This will inspire the new generation to connect with the rich heritage of patriotism, love for the national language and literature.

The visitors paid tribute at the statue of Swamiji which had been inaugurated by former Lok Sabha Speaker Dr. Balram Jakhar here. They also discussed with the school principal Anurag Nagpal about the activities.
