The Fazilka district police, taking swift action, saved the life of a woman who was reportedly going to the canal to commit suicide.

SSP Dr. Pragya Jain said that information was received on the phone number 112 of the police control room that a woman was suspected to end her life by jumping into the canal. The Road Safety Force also received information from a passerby. After which the team of Police and Road Security Force from Arniwala got the exact location of the said woman from the technical cell by technical means and quickly reached that place and saved the life of the said woman and she was handed over to Police Station Arniwala.

The said woman is said to be from a village Roran Wali, in Muktsar district. 

Dr. Pragya Jain said that any information can be given on the phone number 112 of the police control room. She said that if someone gives information about any anti-social element here, the identity of the informer is also kept confidential
