BRAVE GIRL OF HARYANA GAVE NEW LEASE OF LIFE TO FOUR CRITICALLY-ILL PATIENTS AFTER HER TRAGIC DEATH

In a deeply moving display of generosity and compassion, the family of an 18-year-old girl Preet resident of Jind, who tragically met with an accident on 29 April, 2024 and declared brain-dead on 11th May, 2024 at Alchemist Hospital in Panchkula, choose to donate her organs.

Giving more information in this regard an official spokesperson informed that the donated Liver organ was airlifted to Max Hospital Saket, Pancreas and one kidney shifted to PGIMER Chandigarh, One kidney donated to a kidney-failure patient in Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula. A green corridor was created on Sunday between Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula to Max Hospital Saket, New Delhi and PGIMER Chandigarh.

Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Associate Director Kidney Transplant, Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula highlighted the significance of organ transplantation in restoring health and vitality to patients, while Dr. Paramjit Singh Maan, Medical Superintendent of Alchemist Hospital said that awareness of organ donation is must, many precious lives can be saved with organ donation. Ironically, India is struggling with acute shortage of organs for the critically ill patients requiring transplantation. This selfless act has brought hope and renewed life to multiple individuals in need.

Dr. Mukta Civil Surgeon Sec 6 Panchkula expressed deep gratitude for the family's decision, recognizing the profound impact it would have on the recipients and their families. Amidst their profound grief, the family found solace in knowing that their daughter's spirit would live on through the lives she saved. Their decision underscores her loving and giving nature, inspiring others to consider organ donation

Dr. Randeep Singh Poonia, Director-General of Health Services (DGHS), commended the family for their noble gesture. Dr. J.S. Punia, DGHS (Program) who was actively involved in organising the smooth retrieval of organs in this case, emphasized upon the life-saving importance of organ donation.

The spokesperson further highlighted that with the coordination of DCP Panchkula Himadri Kaushik, Dr. Sukhbir Brar, Incharge SOTTO, Haryana and whole Haryana police supported the nobal cause. Dr Nirmal Sidhu, State Nodal Officer (Organ Donation & Transplantation) extended gratitude towards the transplantation teams of PGIMER Chandigarh, Max Saket and Alchemist hospital Panchkula for their immediate response and efforts. He also thanked Dr. Vipin Koshal, Medical Superintendent and Director, ROTTO for his continuous guidance and support
