UTCA AND CHANDIGARH POLICE MEET TO DISCUSS GULLY CRICKET

In wake of upcoming Gully Cricket Tournament commencing from July 26 being organised by UT Cricket Association (UTCA) and Chandigarh Police, a review meeting was held at Police Lines, Sector 26. During this meeting, the outline of the tournament which will run for more than two weeks was prepared and the details of management were discussed.

UTCA’s Secretary Devender Sharma said that like last year, Gully Cricket is getting the full support from Chandigarh Police . The effort of both the counterparts is to control criminal activities by keeping the youth away from evils like drugs and at the same lines to build a healthy nation by connecting them with sports.

During the meeting, DSP Dalbir Singh, DSP Sita Devi, Inspector Mini Bhardwaj of CID department along with SHO officers, liaison officers and ground liaison officers of all police stations participated. The target for 3456 players to participate in the tournament with 288 teams is set for this edition as the tournament will be played in a total of nine grounds across the city.

All the station’s SHOs gave registrations updates and also marked their suggestions to make the tournament successful. UTCAs senior members Ravinder Singh Billa, Dr. Rupesh Kumar Singh and others also participated in the meeting.
