RASHTRIYA RIDERS MOTORCYCLE EXPEDITION FLAGGED OFF BY GOC 61 SUB AREA

‘Rashtriya Riders – RR’ motorcycle expedition to commemorate 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas was flagged off by Maj Gen RS Godara, General Officer Commanding, 61 Sub Area today from Vijay Dwar, Jaipur Military Station.  

The aim of the ride is to honour the heroes of the Kargil War and express the heartfelt gratitude of countrymen towards brave soldiers of the Indian Army for their sacrifices and valour.  

A total of 14 groups are participating in the rally. They will traverse through Jaipur – Ambala – Manali – Sarchu – Leh – Partapur – Siachen Base Camp - Nubra Valley – Pangong Tso – Rezang La - Tagste - Durbuk - Leh - Drass – Srinagar – Udhampur – Pathankot – Hisar – Jaipur, while covering a distance of approx 4000 kms over a period of sixteen days. 

The expedition team is carrying the messages of gratitude expressed through letters and cards made by children from different schools including several differently abled children. The messages collected through campaigns run in Jaipur and Chandigarh would be delivered at Drass War Memorial, Kargil. 

Himmat Singh Shekhawat, Admin of Rashtriya Riders has also written a book on Indian Army titled “Tiger of Drass” based on Kargil War covering the story of Captain Anuj Nayyar, Maha Vir Chakra. He has further diverted the royalty of this book for the welfare of the Armed Forces.
