Immunohistochemistry (IHC) test is being done with the fully automatic machine Benchmark GX for important tests related to cancer at Dr SS Tantia Medical College Hospital and Research Center (Jan Sewa Hospital), Sriganganagar. This type of automatic machine testing is not available anywhere else in Sriganganagar-Hanumangarh district.

Deputy Director (Medical Education) Gurbhajan Singh said that this fully automatic machine is from Roche Company and it is the first medical college to start special testing in this field.

Dr. Sankalp Dwivedi, Dean of the Medical College, said that this test will help cancer patients in the classification of undifferentiated/poorly differentiated tumours (CK7/CK20). He said that the chemotherapy required for a cancer patient is also based on the results of the IHC test. For example, breast cancer treatment is based on positive or negative markers (ER, PR, HER2/neu and KI-67). This machine is being operated under the direction of Dr. Sarika More, Head of the Pathology Department.
