Master Abhay Jeet and Miss Devishi were elected school captains while Master Saurav and Miss Har Noor were elected school vice captains at the annual Alankaran Utsav in LRS DAV Sr Sec Model School on Saturday. Chief guest Dr Pragya Jain SSP offered badges to them. The SSP was warmly received by Principal Smita Sharma and staff on her arrival.

The SSP informed the gathering about the Mission Nishchay being run to tackle the drug menace by Fazilka district police and inspired all to cooperate in identifying drug traffickers and help in taking addicts to the rehabilitation centers. Students, staff and teachers responded to the appeal overwhelmingly and pledged to support the campaign in letter and spirit. They also assured to play a role in developing a drug-free society.

24 students, who had excelled in different competitions, were honoured on the occasion.
