FICN in the denomination Rs 500, to the tune of Rs 2.91 lakh recovered.5 mobile phones along with sim cards used in the trafficking recovered, FICN were trafficked from neighbouring countries to Bihar and then to Delhi.

A team of South Western Range, Special Cell has arrested two persons namely Ram Pravesh (age- 48 yrs) S/o Sh. Makhan Rai R/o Vill- Bhodiya, District Sheohar, Bihar and Ali Asgar (Age- 48 yrs) S/o Mohd. Alam R/o Vill- Bakuriahiya, Raxaul, Bihar. A total of 582 note of Fake Indian Currency notes of Rs 500 denomination were recovered from them. accused persons were part of the international FICN racket.
OPERATION & ARREST: The team of Inspr. Manender Singh, Inspr. Neeraj Kumar and Insp. Sundeep Yadav, was working on the inputs received in the special cell regarding the attempts of anti-national elements regarding the circulation of FICN in Delhi NCR area. A dedicated team was deputed to develop the information about the syndicate.
Mr. Majoj C, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police Special Cell, New DelhiAccused Ram Parvesh Rai was subjected to intensive interrogation, he disclosed that he works as contractor in Delhi NCR area and he was not able to generates much profits. In order to earn quick money, he started trafficking FICN with his associate Ali Asgar, whom he had met in his village in Muzaffarpur. At the instance of Ram Parvesh Rai, hide outs of Ali Asgar were identified and on 12/07/2024, Ali Asgar was arrested from Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
Secret sources were deployed with specific tasking in this regard. Surveillance was mounted on the movements of members of this syndicate and requisite actionable intelligence was collected. The strenuous and painstaking efforts of the team revealed that FICN is being pumped into India from Nepal Raxaul Border. It was also revealed that FICN was being pumped by these racketeers in various parts of the country including Delhi & NCR through this route. On 06/07/2024, specific information was received that one of the key members of the racket namely Ram Parvesh Rai would come to Anand Vihar Terminal area for supplying a huge consignment of FICN.
Immediately, a raiding team consisting of Insp. Neeraj Kumar, SIs Vishal, Vaseek Ahmad, ASI Pardeep, HCs Atul, Manish, Sanjay, Ravi, Dinesh, Amit, Deepak, Sumit and Ct. Vijay under the supervision of Sh. Sanjay Dutt, ACP/SWR was constituted. A trap was laid near the Foot over bridge, near Anand Vihar Terminal. At the instance of secret informer, at about 8:15 PM, one person was apprehended whose identity was revealed as Ram Pravesh (age- 48 yrs) S/o Sh. Makhan Rai R/o Vill- Bhodiya, PS Taryani Chapra, District Sheohar, Bihar. From his possession, a total 578 notes of FICN of Rs 500 denomination to the tune of Rs 2.89 lakh were recovered.
Accordingly, case FIR no 290/24 u/s 179/180 BNS was registered at PS-Special Cell and Ram Parvesh Rai was arrested under the appropriate sections of the law.

During the PC remand, at the instance of Ali Asgar, 4 notes of FICN of Rs 500 denomination were also recovered. During interrogation, Ali Asgar revealed that the one Asif is the kingpin of the racket. Asif traffics the FICN from Nepal border. Asif is a habitual offender and had been previously arrested in the cases of FICN by Special Cell. Asif is on the run and efforts are being made to trace him. Ali Asgar has also been booked in a FICN case in Bihar in the year 2009 (Details are being verified). Ali Asgar also disclosed that Asif along with one Ansari procures the FICN from Pakistan via Nepal or Bangladesh and further pumps the same across Indo-Nepal or Indo-Bangladesh borders.

Ram Parvesh Rai was born in Muzaffarpur. He is married and has 3 children. He is working as contractor and plumber in Loni and Delhi area. He is involved in procurement & supply of the FICN since last three years.
Ali Asgar was born in Raxual. He is married and has 5 children. He is engaged in agriculture and local property dealing. He is engaged in procurement and supply of FICN since 2005.
