DELHI POLICE NABBED PUNJAB BASED AGENT, ARRANGED FAKE MOROCCAN VISA, PAX DEPORTED FROM UAE

WENT TO UAE IN MARCH 2024. INTENDING TO DEPART MOROCCO FROM UAE.  CAUGHT AT UAE AIRPORT DURING SCRUTINY OF HIS TRAVEL DOCUMENTS.

Continuing crackdown on fraudulent agent, staff of PS IGI Airport arrested one fraudster agent namely Harjinder Singh S/o Tarsem Singh R/o Village-Ajnala, Amritsar, Punjab Age 40 years in Case FIR No. 712/24 dated: 21.09.24 U/s 318(4)/336(3)/340(2) BNS & 12 PP Act, PS IGI Airport, Delhi. He had arranged a fake Moroccan Visa on the passport of the pax for his journey to Morocco.

The facts of the case are that in the intervening night of 20/21-09-2024, one Indian pax namely Lovepreet Singh Batth S/o Daljit Singh R/o Dashmesh Nagar, Kot Khlsa, Amritsar, Punjab Age 27 Years arrived at IGI Airport from UAE as a deportee. During scrutiny of his travel documents, one fake Moroccan visa was found affixed on his passport. As the pax cheated Indian Immigration by travelling on a passport having a fake visa, a Case FIR No. 712/24 dated: 21.09.24 U/s 318(4)/336(3)/340(2) BNS & 12 PP Act, PS IGI Airport, Delhi was registered accordingly and investigation of the case was taken up. 

During the course of investigation of the case, pax Lovepreet Singh Batth was arrested. On interrogation, he disclosed that he had studied up to 12th class and some friends from his villages had gone abroad for work and were earning good money. So, the pax also decided to go to Germany for a better livelihood.

Thereafter, he met with one agent namely Harjinder Singh who belongs near to his village, and showed his interest in going to Germany. The agent Harjinder Singh assured him to arrange his journey to Germany illegally in lieu of Rs 8 lakhs. The agent also told him that at first, he would create a travel history on his passport. The agent further assured the pax that he would also arrange work for him in abroad.

The pax further disclosed that as per the deal, he deposited Rs 8 lakhs in the bank account of the agent via different transactions. The agent Harjinder Singh arranged visa and tickets for his journey along with the help of his associates and arranged his journey to UAE from Amritsar Airport in March 2024. Thereafter, the agent along with the help of his associates, arranged a Moroccan visa on the passport of the pax in UAE. The pax also revealed that on the directions of the agent Harjinder Singh, he was departing to Morocco from UAE but he was caught during immigration clearance and was deported back to IGI Airport.

Usha Rangnani, IPS, DCP, IGI Airport, said, on the basis of local intelligence and technical surveillance coupled with sincere and dedicated efforts of the team, the fraudster agent namely Harjinder Singh S/o Tarsem Singh R/o Village-Ajnala, Amritsar, Punjab Age 40 years was nabbed from one of his hideouts in Amritsar, Punjab and arrested in the case.On sustained interrogation, accused Harjinder Singh confessed his guilt and disclosed that he had studied up to 10th class and was engaged in farming but he was not earning much money for his livelihood. During that period, he came in contact with some agents who used to dupe people on the pretext of sending them abroad and providing job opportunities there. Thereafter, he started working with them in order to earn quick and easy money.

A dedicated team led by Inspr. Sushil Goyal/SHO/PS IGI Airport, comprising SI PR Hooda and HC Ajay Rana was constituted under the close supervision of ACP/IGI Airport and the overall supervision of the undersigned. The team was briefed properly and tasked to nab the absconding culprit at the earliest.

The accused further disclosed his involvement in the case and revealed that he received Rs 8 lakhs in his bank account from the pax and with the help of his associates, he arranged a fake Morocco visa on the passport of the pax and arranged his journey to UAE.

Investigation of the case is in progress to unearth the involvement of other agents and to scrutinize bank accounts of the accused and to trace his possible involvement in other similar complaints/cases also.
