As part of the run-up to the BSF's 60th Raising Day celebrations on December Ist, the BSF Punjab Frontier today flagged off a cycle rally from BSF Joint Check Post (JCP) Sadki to BSF JCP Attari, Amritsar. This 491 km rally along the India-Pakistan border aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth, and inspire them to join the Border Security Force.
The cycle rally was flagged off by Vijay Kumar, DIG, BSF Sector Abohar, in the presence of Shailendra Mishra, Commandant (Adm), Ram Chand, Commandant (Ops) and KN Tripathi, Commandant, 55 Battalion.
A total of 60 cyclists, including BSF and civilian participants, are taking part in this initiative, which symbolizes unity and collaboration. The rally will traverse 491 km along the international border, passing through significant locations such as JCP Hussainiwala and the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, before culminating at JCP Attari, Amritsar, on November 30, 2024.

Along the route, cultural programs and weapon exhibitions will be organized to engage the local border population and youth. The primary objective of the rally is to raise awareness about the menace of drug abuse, encourage the youth in border areas to pursue a healthy and drug- free lifestyle, and strengthen the bond between the BSF and the local communities.
DIG Vijay Kumar emphasized the importance of engaging with the border population, particularly the youth. "This cycle rally underscores the BSF's commitment to fostering unity, promoting positive change, and highlighting the significance of a healthy lifestyle free from drugs," he said.
