BSF SHOT DEAD SIX INTRUDERS, 257 DRONES RECOVERED AND 667 KG NARCOTICS WORTH BILLION OF DOLLARS SEIZED

BORDER SECURITY FORCE, WESTERN COMMAND CHANDIGARH CELEBRATED 60TH RAISING DAY OF BSF

While interacting media persons, at BSF Complex Industrial Area Phase-II, Chandigarh  Satish S Khandare, IPS, ADG BSF (WC)  has said,  despite the difficult terrain and harsh climatic conditions, BSF jawans are effectively preventing cross-border crimes such as infiltration, smuggling of narcotics, arms, ammunition etc. Total 257 drones were recovered, 667 Kg narcotic items have been seized and 06 infiltrators were killed during the year by BSF on the western border.

On the occasion of the foundation day of Border Security Force on 1st December, Western Command BSF organized the 60th Raising Day at BSF Campus Lakhnaur, (Mohali) and BSF Campus, Industrial Area, Phase-2, Chandigarh on 30th November and 01 December 2024 with great fervor.

Earlier on 30th November 2024, 'Barakhana' and cultural programme was organized as per the tradition of the force, in which BSF jawans, their families and retired BSF personnel participated and made the event successful.

Shri Satish S Khandare, IPS, ADG BSF (WC) along with all BSF personnel paid heartfelt tribute to the BSF martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the security of the nation and congratulated all Seema Praharis and their families on the eve of BSF Raising Day.

After this, a tree plantation programme was organized by BSF (Western Command) in which the ADG and all available officers and jawans participated. 

BSF has successfully organized Rashtriya Ekta Divas at Kewadia, Gujarat. Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the chief guest of the event.

Additional Director General apprised the media regarding various government schemes such as e-awas, CAPF Ayushman and e-ticketing, CLMS (Centralized Liquor Management System) and its execution by BSF upto field formations, as well as about the border development works, which assist BSF troops to guard the border and are also beneficial for border population.

In the end, ADG, BSF (WC) reiterated that despite several challenges, BSF troops deployed along the International Border and the Line of Control are effectively performing their duties in their area of responsibility in keeping with BSF's motto ‘Jeevan Paryant Kartavya’.
