“DELHI POLICE: DIL KI POLICE” SAVED PRECIOUS LIVES OF 5 AMONG TWO WOMEN & TWO CHILDREN, FROM A BUILDING ON FIRE

With the prompt & brave act by the staff of PS Maidan Garhi, South District, a serious mishap caused by a Fire at a building was prevented. Their swift and courageous actions, especially considering the buildings prevented the fire from spreading and saved valuable lives of 05 persons including 02 children. 

On 06.12.2024 at about 08:30 PM, a PCR call regarding a major fire in a building was received in PS Maidan Garhi. The information was immediately relayed to a patrolling team comprising HC Pankaj, HC Gograj, and HC Neeraj, led by SHO Maidan Garhi. The team promptly rushed to the scene of the incident at Arya Apartment, Gali No. 10, Phase 2, Chhatarpur Enclave, where they encountered commotion and observed that the building was engulfed in flames.

Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, DCP, South Distt. said, there was no loss of life due to swift action and better coordination among the police staff. The fire broke out due to short circuit in parking area. The building is having total 4 floors, 06 rooms on each floor.

Without wasting any time, the police staff—HC Pankaj, HC Gograj, and HC Neeraj—rushed to the parking area where the fire had originated and quickly split up to control the situation.

HC Pankaj started arranging a water tanker from the nearby area and calming the public to reduce panic. HC Gograj bravely rushed to the top floor of the building to rescue the trapped occupants. Risking his life, he successfully evacuated several residents, including a woman and her 8-day-old daughter, safely out of the building.

Meanwhile, HC Neeraj broke the windows of the cars in the parking area, released their handbrakes, and moved two vehicles away from the burning car, preventing the fire from spreading further.HC Pankaj, with the assistance of local water tankers, sprayed water in and around the parking area, significantly helping to extinguish the fire. He also rescued a 3-year-old boy trapped amidst the flames.Eventually, the fire was doused and brought the situation under control with the help of the fire tenders.

The parents of the children and the society appraised the immediate action taken by the police. Everyone thanked Delhi Police for being “Dil ki Police”.The staff involved in this valiant Act is being rewarded suitably.
