Inauguration of Vidyasagar Mohandai Oswal Dharamshala and Unveiling of the idols of Shri Vidyasagar Oswal and Shrimati Mohandai Oswal was held at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali, Barmalipur, near Doraha (Ludhiana) on Sunday.
Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industry and Commerce Tarunpreet Singh Sond was Chief Guest and MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora was Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Arora highly appreciated Oswal Group for taking an initiative to build dharamshala in the memory of their parents. He said this place would be going to become a landmark in the future, adding that Oswal Group have changed the concept of a dharamashala by setting up a multi-story building of dharamshala which looks not less than a five-star hotel and also facilities it offers. He hoped dharamshala would prove very beneficial for pilgrims visiting this sacred place.
MP Arora lauded social activities being carried out by Oswal Group besides in other sectors such as industrial, health and education. He hoped that the younger generation of Oswal Family should get inspiration from their elders and forefathers.
With the increasing number of pilgrims, the need for a Dharamshala and a Bhojnalaya was felt at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali. To meet this need, the Oswal Foundation and Jawahar Lal Oswal Public Charitable Trust have constructed a very beautiful and artistic building. Dharamshala is like a paradise for the spiritual journeys of the pilgrims.
Jawahar Lal Oswal apprised that the three-storey dharamshala has 40 AC Executive Rooms and 13 AC Deluxe Rooms, which are equipped with modern facilities and are at par with 3-star or 4-star hotels. Wi-Fi facility is also available here. The serene rural surroundings of dharamshala provide pilgrims a clean and peaceful environment, away from industrial Ludhiana, and the mind experiences spiritual peace here.
The complex also houses Abhilash Oswal Bhojanalaya, run by Oswal Foundation and Jawaharlal Oswal Public Charitable Trust, which has food arrangements for 350 to 400 people at a time. The food here is served according to Jain traditions and modern and excellent seating arrangements are available. Apart from this, Jawahar Oswal Pravachan Hall has also been constructed for pilgrims and tourists, in which 300 to 500 people can sit at a time. This hall also has the facility of state-of-the-art sound system and air conditioning.
An Upashraya equipped with modern facilities has been constructed for the stay of Gurus of all communities of Jain society, which has been named Shri Atam Jain Vallabh. A medical dispensary is also available here for the convenience of pilgrims so that it can be used in any kind of emergency. Due to the facilities of the Dharamshala and Bhojanalaya, now more than one lakh pilgrims and tourists are expected to come here every year.

In his address, Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond highly appreciated the setting up of dharamshala in his Khanna assembly constituency. He said he is always ready to extend any kind of help for this sacred place near Doraha. He said the dharamshala building would serve the society at a larger level, adding that he has observed that Members of Oswal Group are completely down to earth, which is an ultimate reason for their success.

Among others, SikandarLal Jain, a representative from Jain Samaj and Navneet Jain from Shri Atmanand Jain Sabha also spoke on the occasion. Almost all the speakers highly appreciated MP Arora’s initiatives being taken for overall development and growth of the industry and the Ludhiana city as well, and raising important Ludhiana and Punjab issues in the Parliament.
Both MP Arora and Punjab Minister Sond were honoured with mementoes.
Among others industrialists Rajinder Gupta, Anoop Bector, Gagan Khanna, Ruby Nayyar, Rajni Bector, Ashish Chaudhry and Lucky Nayyar were present along with the extended Oswal Family.
