MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora attended the inaugural function of Urban community Health Centre (UCHC), near Civil Surgeon Office here on Friday. The Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh did the inauguration. On the occasion, MP Arora announced a grant of Rs.10 lakh out of the MPLAD Fund for the Dialysis Centre at UCHC and also an Ambulance required for Dialysis patients.
MP Arora, in a statement here on Sunday, lauded the efforts of Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh and MLA (Ludhiana North) Madan Lal Bagga for creating another health facilities in the shape of newly inaugurated UCHC for the local urban population. He hoped that the newly set up government hospital would provide better health facilities to the nearby residents.
Arora laid stress on creating more infrastructure in the health sector. He said he is making all out efforts to upgrade the local civil hospital with funds available under MPLAD and CSR. He hoped that the work of upgrading the local civil hospital will be completed by the end of January next. He further said that ESIC Medical College will also be set up in the near future. He said there is a need to work more in the health sector.

He regretted that medical treatment, especially critical care is very much cost these days, resulting to which it is affecting pockets of the poor people.
