THE EXIBITION OF CRAFROOTS TO KICK OFF ON DEC. 13, CM HARYANA TO INAUGURATE

DEMAND FOR A CRAFROOTS UNIVERSITY RAISED BY ORGANISERS

The Gramshree organization was established in 1995 by Gujarat’s first female Chief Minister, Mrs. Anandiben Patel (Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh), to empower women and support their upliftment. By connecting women’s hands with the art of craftsmanship, the organization has provided a new direction to the lives of 75,000 women from both urban and rural areas, making them self-reliant.

‘Craftroots’ is a branch of the Gramshree organization, founded in 2008, which provides a platform for artisans of traditional and cultural arts hat have been passed down through generations in India. It showcases their handicrafts on a global level, creating livelihoods through handicrafts while also raising awareness about the rich heritage of these Indian crafts.

Craftroots has so far organized 79 exhibitions in various metro cities across India, as well as in Dubai, the USA, Singapore, and other countries, expanding the reach of India’s cultural crafts. Working with over 35,000 artisans from every state in India, Crafteroots is organizing an exhibition in Chandigarh that will showcase more than 70+ different handicrafts from over 75+ artisans from 13 states of India

Live demonstrations of crafts such as Pattachitra (Odisha), Lac Bangle (Rajasthan), Glass Art (Uttar Pradesh), and Miniature Painting (Rajasthan) will be part of the event.

While intracting media at Chandigarh Press Club, the organisers demand for a University to boost the business of craftroots. The exhibition will be held at Kishan Bhavan, 1 Dakshin Marg, 35A, Sector -35, Chandigarh from December 13, 2024, to December 17, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily. Entry to the exhibition is free.

The inauguration will take place on December 13, 2024, at 09:00 AM, and will be graced by Chief Minister, Haryana Shri Nayab Singh Saini,

During media intraction Mrs. Anarben Patel (Founder, Gramshree & Crafteroots), Mrs. Rasilaben Marvada, Kutchi Embroidery (Gujarat)m Mrs. Chhoti Yadav, Embroidery (Rajasthan), Mr. Jay Gopal Maity, Mother of Pearl (West Bengal) were also present.
