Gunjan Verma, a Class VIII student of Government Model Senior Secondary School Danger Khera village near Abohar, has won the 3rd position in a state-level painting competition. The competition was held as part of the National Campaign. She was awarded a certificate and a medal. An official associated with the event said the top students from different schools of the state were selected to participate in the competition. Gunjan is the daughter of Vijay Kumar Kiroriwal.
Her grandfather Puran Chand Kiroriwal said that Gunjan participated in the state level painting competition, in which her painting bagged third position. This is a matter of pride not only for us and the village but also for the school. “I am very proud of my granddaughter for this achievement, " he said.
The parents said that they would like to give the credit for this to Dharampal Jalap, Principal GSSS Danger Khera, Monica Jagga, Drawing Teacher, all the staff besides Gunjan who worked hard and brought laurels to the district.
