FIVE-DAY BORDER AREA YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM ORGANIZED BY NEHRU YUVA KENDRA

25 YOUTH FROM BORDER AREAS TO EXPLORE THE CULTURE OF CHANDIGARH AND PUNJAB FOR THE NEXT 5 DAYS

A five-day Border Area Youth Exchange Program will be organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandigarh starting Monday. The program will take place at the Rural and Industrial Development Research Centre in Sector 19, Chandigarh where 25 youth participants from the border districts of five states – Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will take part.

Providing details about the program, District Youth Officer Sanjana Vatts mentioned that these youth will stay in Chandigarh for the next five days and experience the rich culture of Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana. During the year 2024-25 the program will be organised at 50 venues throughout the country. During the program at Chandigarh, various sessions will be held for the youth, where subject experts will engage with them and share insights on topics related to Vikshit Bharat. Additionally, the participants will also visit various tourist and educational and industrially advanced sites in Chandigarh.

Sanjana Vatts further emphasized that the main objective of this program is to expose youth from border areas to the diverse cultures of different parts of India. Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India is organizing similar programs across the country to promote mutual understanding, national integration, and cultural diversity among youth.

Dr. Bindu, Director of the Rural and Industrial Development Research Centre, will grace the opening ceremony of the program as the Chief Guest.
