HIIMS Hawks secured a thrilling 10-run victory over Talanoa Tigers at the eleventh day of Chandrashekhar Azad T20 Tournament being played at Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Panchkula on Monday. While batting first, Hawks posted 154/4, with sensible stay from top order batters - skipper Shivam Bhambri (44), Nikhil Thakur (40) and Nehal Pajni (32).
In response, Talanoa Tigers fought hard but fell short at 144/8, despite the combined efforts from Prashant Ahlawat (48), Akshit Rana (40) and Taranpreet Singh (33). Man of the Match Nikhil Sharma shone with the ball, taking 3/29.
Meanwhile, later in the day, City Challengers secured a thrilling six run victory over WildWood Warriors, ending their winning streak. Batting first, City Challengers posted 195/5 with a magnificent contribution from Gurneet Singh (84 off 49 balls) wherein the batter smashed 11 boundaries and one beyond the fence. Fireworks from unbeaten Amrit Lubana (44 of 26 balls) also helped the team to a massive mammoth.
In response, Warriors’ opener Aarush Bhandari (70 off 45) provided a solid foundation, guiding the team to 109/1 in 11 overs. However, disciplined bowling in the middle overs restricted their momentum. Despite a valiant late effort by skipper Gurinder Singh (41 off 21), Warriors managed to amass 191/3. Tushar Joshi scored 38 while unbeaten Nipun Sharda added 27.
