NCC 2 CHANDIGARH BATTALION FELICITATES WOMAN-POWER ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

2 Chandigarh Battalion NCC celebrated International Women's Day with great fervour and enthusiasm at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The event was organised with the objective to recognise and honour the women folks for their leadership abilities, contribution to the education & defence sectors and the self reliant women.

  The event was attended by Chief Guest Mrs Opinder Sekhon, National Gold & Silver Medalist in Athlete, Ms Kiranjeet Kaur Jandu (Marathon Runner, winner in miss Bharat 2021 women of substance, President of star of tricity group), Ms Poonam, Indian Para Table Tennis Player (Sashakt Nari award winner)
Sunita Malik, A National Athlete (completed 113 marathon with more then 80 Gold medal). Their valuable presence inspired a total of 238 NCC Senior Wing cadets from various colleges of 2 Chandigarh Battalion NCC to imbibe the qualities of self-reliance, self-confidence and leadership.

Theme-based Cultural performances were presented on the occasion which included traditional and contemporary dances, musical performances and theatrical enactments. The main theme of these presentations was women empowerment, equality and self-reliance. Through their impressive performances, the cadets emphasised on gender equality, women's rights and their contribution to society. These presentations not only provided entertainment to the cadets but also gave them deep social messages.

Chief Guest Opinder Sekhon in her address highlighted the importance of women education, self-reliance and leadership. She said "Every girl has strength to be a leader, a warrior and a guiding force for the society. We have to recognize her power and encourage her to step forward."

Other distinguished guests Kiranjit Kaur, Sunita Malik and Poonam also shared their views and motivated women to move ahead and become self-reliant in every field.
