Team of Police Station Cyber Crime burst a Gang of operating Fake Call Centre with arrest of 12 accused in Case FIR No. 40 dated 07.09.2022 U/S 419, 420, 120B IPC PS- Cyber Crime, Chandigarh, under supervision/direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Cyber Crime, Chandigarh, close guidance of Sh. A Venkatesh, DANIPS, DSP/PS-CC& IT, UT, Chandigarh and leadership of Inspector Ranjit Singh, SHO, PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh.
The present case was registered on the complaint of Sh. Ravinder Kumar Retd. Air Marshal (Ex Advisor to Govt. of Gujrat) R/o Air force Station 12 Wing, Sector 31, Chandigarh, in which he reported that he purchased a flat F-601 Signature Towers, Sec-66 A, Mohali and wanted to register PSPCL Electric meter for this purchased house. He searched Helpline No. on Google and called on helpline no-7008677490 on the site of PSPCL. On this number one Amit Kumar talked with him, who asked complainant to transfer Rs. 25/-.
Further alleged asked to complainant to link his google pay UPI with CRED of SBI and HDFC Account. After this alleged debited Rs. 3,26,000/- in different intervals. Further complainant noticed that it was fake/fraudster number.
After registration the case, during investigation it has been found that an amount INR 1,11,500/- of the complainant was transferred in the account of M/s D.K Enterprises and found that Danna Khan of Barely is the Prop. of this Company. On this ASI Balwan Chand along with the team was sent to Barely (UP) and on 23.11.2022 accused Danna Khan S/o Mahtav Khan R/o Govindapur, Thana CB Ganj, Distt. Bareilly, UP has been arrested from his residence at Barelly (UP).
Further, it has been found that amount Rs. 1,20,000/- transferred through Razor Pay for paying the bill of the credit card, which are on the name of Anuj & Sonu Kumar of Bihar. On this ASI Balwan Chand with the team was sent to Bihar and accused Sonu Kumar Pandey S/o Dinesh Pandey R/o Village Pipra P.O Mustafabad PS-Goreyakothi, Distt. Siwan, Bihar and Anuj Kumar S/o Janardhan Singh R/o Village Hariharpur kala, PS- Jamo Bazar Distt. Siwan, Bihar have been arrested from Distt. Siwan Bihar. From the arrest of both accused it came to light that the amount was transferred on the instance of Govinda Kumar and Anoop Kumar Tiwari Distt. Champaran Bihar.
Then the Team, Inspector Ranjit Singh, SHO/PS-Cyber Crime along with officials reached at Champaran, Bihar. On 07.12.2022, Govinda Kumar S/o Bindeshwari Singh R/o #513 Karan Kudariya PS Masrakh Distt. Champaran Bihar was hiding himself in the Jungle area and a trap was made on the 04 side of suspect area and accused Govinda Kumar was nabbed. He was interrogated and further he disclosed about the whereabouts of other accused namely Anoop Kumar Tiwari S/o Amlesh Tiwari R/o Shastri Tolla PS Masrakh Distt. Champaran Bihar. Accused Anoop Kumar was arrested from Masrakh, Champaran, Bihar.From the interrogation of Govinda Kumar and Anoop Kumar Tiwari it was found that Govinda Kumar is selling illegal liquor in Bihar and also arrested in 01 case registered in Gopal Ganj and accused Anoop Kumar was also arrested in the case of black money and approximately Rs. 1.5 Crore recovered from his possession. Both the accused met each other in the jail of Gopal Ganj and planned the fraud like this and after releasing from the jail Govinda and Anoop Kumar with his other associates committing these types of frauds. Accused Danna Khan, Anuj Kumar, & Sonu Kumar Pandey sent to judicial custody.
From the interrogation of Govinda Kumar and Anoop Kumar Tiwari it was found that Govinda Kumar is selling illegal liquor in Bihar and also arrested in 01 case registered in Gopal Ganj and accused Anoop Kumar was also arrested in the case of black money and approximately Rs. 1.5 Crore recovered from his possession. Both the accused met each other in the jail of Gopal Ganj and planned the fraud like this and after releasing from the jail Govinda and Anoop Kumar with his other associates committing these types of frauds. Accused Danna Khan, Anuj Kumar, & Sonu Kumar Pandey sent to judicial custody.
In Further investigation it came to light that the fraud amount was further transferred to the account of Neeraj Gupta from the accounts of accused Sonu & Anuj on the instance of Govinda Kumar and Anoop Kumar Tiwari.
On this information, A team of ASI Balwan Chand, ASI Jatender Kumar & ASI Surender Kumar of PS- Cyber Crime sent to Kolkata, WB and they arrested Neeraj Gupta from Kolkata. On the arrest of accused Neeraj Gupta it revealed that his account was managed by his brother Dheeraj Gupta. Accused Dheeraj Gupta also arrested from Kolkata, WB. Further accused, Dheeraj Gupta disclosed that he provided accounts and SIM Cards to other accused namely Safiq Ansari @ Guddu and he running a Fake Call Centre in Kharagpur, West Bengal. The team of ASI Balwan Chand alongwith officials raided at Slum Area, Malanch, Kharagpur, West Bengal, where accused Shehnvaz Ansari, Safiq Ansari @ Guddu, Yusuf Ansari, Tanvir Alam & Irfan Ansari were found in a old house and running a Fake Call Centre for making Fake calls to people. All 05 accused arrested and 15 Mobile Phones recovered from them at Fake Call Centre of Kharagpur, WB.
During Investigation it came to light that accused Safiq Ansari @ Guddu is also having Fake Aadhar Card in the name of Amit Kumar S/o Ranjit Kumar R/o Village Amnari, PO Amnari PS Barhi, Hazari Bagh, Jharkhand. He was having this Fake Aadhar Card to hide his Identity.
Accused Dheeraj is the Master mind of this Gang and earlier he use to commit cheating for installing mobile towers and he also provided account numbers and different SIM Cards to the Active Gang members. He also put Fake numbers on Courier Helpline Websites.
The investigation of the case is in progress and accused are being interrogated to find out whereabouts of the other accused and their involvement in other Cyber Crimes.
