43 ARMOURED REGIMENT CELEBRATES 43RD RAISING DAY

43 Armoured Regiment celebrated the arrival of its 43rd year in service to the nation. The momentous occasion was celebrated at Jaisalmer with serving and retired officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, other Ranks and families in attendance along with veterans of the Regiment.

Lt. General Rakesh Kapoor, General Officer Commanding of the Jodhpur based Konark Corps and Colonel of the Regiment presided over the entire event. 43 Armoured Regiment nick named 'CHARIOTEERS', was raised on 1st February 1981 at Ahmednagar by the then Lieutenant Colonel (later Lieutenant General) BM Kapur based on a mixed class composition.

The Regiment motto is “YUDHYASVA VIGAT JWAR” signifying, ‘To Fight with A Calm and Determined Mind’.It is the only Regiment of the Armoured Corps to have gone through equipment transition thrice in its service. It currently holds the latest piece of the Indian tank arsenal, the MBT Arjun.

The event commenced with an event at Mandir, Gurudwara and Masjid to seek the Almighty's blessings. The Colonel of the Regiment alongside the previous commandants addressed the troops and the families and felicitated individuals for their actions par excellence at the Regiment Sammelan.
