Indian-origin Australian resident Suresh Makkar, who is currently on his annual vacation in India, released his book 'How to Bring a Smile on Someone's Face' during a simple ceremony at Hotel Shivalikview on Monday.
Makkar, who post graduated from Panjab University with his wife Reena Makkar, extended a special invitation to friends of the Year 1987 batch who were elated to see the author's achievement. Settled in Sydney from the year 2000 and a Mathematics teacher by profession, Makkar suffered badly from brain tumor after being affected by Corona.
He gave up hope of his survival, but by showing his courage, he convincingly dominated the battle of this complicated disease. After about six months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he found writing a book is the only means of his expressions during this trauma. 57 year old Makkar feels that after getting a second lease of life, he felt extremely happy and decided that now it was his turn to make the world happy, for which he relied on his writing. Nearly 75 pages, the book consists of nine chapters that provide the mantra to generate positivity in different ways.Explaining the gist of his book, Makkar said that in the present scenario every individual is chasing his goals and dreams to achieve them. The hectic life and routine didn’t spare time for others. On the contrary, if you are a good listener for each other, then surely brings a smile at both the ends.

And he propagates the same notions in his students through the same principle which is reflected in his book to emphasize a bit on education. He underlined the fact that it is very important for people to have listening skills apart from communication.
In this two-week tour, he is having a good time in Kerala and home town – Chandigarh and will be cherishing experiences in his YouTube channel and forthcoming books.
