Rich tributes were paid to the Late Smt Maya Devi ji, mother of Trident Group founder Rajinder Gupta in a prayer meet held this Sunday at Ludhiana. Family members, friends and well wishers remembered late Maya Devi ji in this prayer meet. Late Smt Maya Devi ji left behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that touched many lives.
It is notable that Smt. Maya Devi was ill for some time. Due to which she was undergoing treatment at CMC Ludhiana, where she died on 25th July 2023 at the age of 89.
A large number people from all walks of life including Industrialists, Business partners, senior bureaucrats, police officers, judiciary, press & media, academicians, religious, social & political leaders- MP/ MLA/ Councillors of all political parties, sportspersons and company employees participated in this prayer meeting to bid farewell to the departed soul.
On Smt Maya Devi’s passing away family has also received condolence letters and words of comfort from Representatives of all Political Parties, Retired judges/ Judicial officers along with senior advocates of High Court, representatives of all big industrial houses of this region, Directors and vice chancellors of various educational institutes & Universities of this region, Central Govt ministers, MP’s, Punjab Engineering College, Punjab Cricket Association, Industrial Chambers and various religious groups of Ludhiana and Barnala, Aggarwal Sabha and others. They expressed their condolences and offered words of solace to the family through letters of mourning.
Nostalgically recalling Late Maya Devi , Sh Rajinder Gupta referred to his mother as the inspiration who firmly believed that doing good for others is not just a lone initiative but it is a way of life. “She inculcated simple and sincere values in her children that not only helped them rise from a humble background, make a rich life and livelihood not just for themselves, but for thousands of families in times to come.”
Fondly referring to Smt. Maya Devi as “Beeji”, Sh. Gupta said that the very genesis of Trident’s Takshashila program is based on her teachings that gave birth to a way of thinking, a way of living and a way of defining “Opportunities Unlimited”. Takshashila, is a unique endeavour that has created opportunities to thousands of youth to learn, earn and grow.
This distinctive initiative that revolves around the teachings of Smt. Maya Devi has made a huge difference in the society and in last 20 years has helped more than 20,000 families in changing the very perspective of their lives.
The very motto of Takshashila, Earn, Learn and Grow revolves around the philosophy of Smt. Maya Devi. Earn stands for resilience, perseverance, and hard work while learn refers to a spirit of curiosity that makes an individual a karamyogi and grow symbolizes moving out of comfort zone to seize the right opportunity at the right time.
Sh. Gupta also stated, “these Takshashilaites are making their mark in the world with one common thread that ties them together no matter where they may be - the thread of love, confidence, and pride that Beeji had for all her children.”
