The Punjab Handicraft Festival at Fazilka was inaugurated today by the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal. The display of art, culture and folk dances of different states in the fair has become a center of special attraction for the audience and on the first day, a large number of people participated in the fair being held at the government level for the first time at Fazilka.
The DC inspected the exhibitions showing various heritage handicrafts, where she appreciated the goods prepared by the artisans and encouraged them by purchasing some pieces.

She said that it is fortunate for the residents of Fazilka that this fair will help in adding heritage color to the people. With the arrival of people from different states in the fair, it will also become a base for cultural exchange. This will allow the survivors to assimilate with the old heritage culture and they will learn from the old culture.
Teams from local schools presented songs, dances, choreography, bhajan, Giddha, bhangra etc. Winners in the quiz competition were felicitated. ADC Ravinder Singh Arora was also present.
