In a major breakthrough  in Mauli Jagran  Murder case under under the direction of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur IPS W/SSP UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Mridul IPS, SP/City, and in the close supervision of Sh. Jasbir Singh, SDPO/North-East, and Inspector/SHO Hari Om Sharma, Police Station-Mauli Jagran, team of Police Station Mauli Jagran headed by SI Avtar Singh 1577/CHG and other police officials successfully arrested two accused persons. 

Case FIR No. 62, Dated 12.07.2024 Under Section 103 (1), 109, 3 (5) BNS PS-Mauli Jagran UT, Chandigarh. The instant case has been registered on the complaint of Sohan Lal Saxsena R/O H.No. 1146, Mauli Complex Mauli Jagran UT, Chandigarh Age 35 years. He reported that his nephew namely
vedpal residing with him and working as laborer by profession.

Yesterday, i.e on 11.07.2024 he along with his family come to attend the wedding function of his neighborer daughter at Community center Vikas Nagar Mauli Jagran Chandigarh. At about, 11.45 PM, he was present at community center and suddenly heard a noise from outside and saw that his nephew Vedpal  lying injured near community center (near tree).

Vedpal told him that an unknown person had stabbed him brutally with knife and run away from the spot. Meanwhile, many people gathered at  the spot and someone in the crowd said that a boy had also fallen near back side wall of Community Center. He took his nephew to GMCH Sector 32 Chandigarh for treatment.

Now, he came to know that the other boy who was lying injured back side community wall has died. He
further stated that some unknown person along with his associates attacked his nephew and another boy with knives.

Now, his nephew is undergoing treatment in hospital and another boy  has been declared brought dead by the doctor. He requested for legal action against culprits. During the course of investigation, several teams were constituted and CCTV cameras installed in the area were checked. The guests and working staff including catering were interrogated.

Due diligence and hard works of team resulted into solving the mystery of stabbing with the arrest of Vishal and Rinku. During interrogation, it is revealed that, on the day of incident deceased Monty had been drinking at a wine shop in Vikas Nagar. After consuming Alcohol when he reached at backside of Community centre he saw Vedpal consuming liquor. He approached Vedpal, who was standing behind the community center wall, also consuming alcohol. At that time Vishal and Rinku , friends of Vedpal, were on the other side of wall and supplying snacks to Vedpal . But Monty was refused by Vedpal which lead to argument between Monty and Vedpal. In a fit of aggression, Monty stabbed Vedpal with a knife. Seeing Vedpal, injured, Rinku and Vishal, who were at other side of wall in the community center jumped outside and beat Monty. Rinku and Vishal attacked Monty with the same knife, resulting in his
death.

KNOW THE ACCUSED:  Rinku S/o Rakesh, , R/o H. NO. 1146 Mauli complex, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, Age 25 years, Occupation: Labourer, The second accused namely Vishal S/o  Vinod Kumar, R/o H. NO. 1146 Mauli complex UT Chandigarh,,  Age 21 years also s labourer.

Moreover, further investigation is going on and accused persons were produced before the Hon’ble Court today i.e. on 15.07.2024 and obtained one day (1) Police remand and to recover the weapon used in crime i.e knife and blood stained cloths of both the accused.
