IN A JOINT OPERATION WITH MATHURA POLICE, PS MATHURA REFINERY AND SPECIAL CELL, SOUTHERN RANGE HAS ARRESTED DREADED & NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL YOGESH @ RAJU AFTER AN EXCHANGE OF FIRE AT AGRA MATHURA HIGHWAY SERVICE ROAD, MATHURA, UP., ONE .32 BORE PISTOL WITH SEVEN LIVE CARTRIDGES AND A STOLEN BIKE ALSO RECOVERED FROM THE ACCUSED.

In the intervening night of 16/17.10.2024, in a combined operation, team of Special Cell/Southern Range led by Inspr. Pawan Kumar and Insp. Satvinder under the supervision of Sh. Ved Parkash, ACP/Special Cell, Southern Range with Mathura (UP) Police, PS Mathura Refinery led by SI Sonu Singh, Station Officer has arrested a dreaded & notorious criminal namely Yogesh @ Raju (26 ) S/o Prem Babu, R/o Razi Chowk, Katra, Brahmpura, Kotwali Badaun, UP after a brief exchange of fire.

During the operation, accused fired 5 rounds at the police team, whereas the raiding team fired 6 rounds in self-defense. In this shootout accused Yogesh @ Raju sustained bullet injuries in his left leg. One .32 bore pistol with seven live cartridges was recovered from accused Yogesh @ Raju. Accused Yogesh @ Raju was wanted in a sensational case of killing a Gym owner Nadir Shah in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash-I. He along with his associates had rained nearly a dozen bullets on Nadir Shah on the instructions of jailed gangster Hashim Baba. 

There was information with Southern Range, Special Cell about the presence of Yogesh @ Raju in Mathura, UP, who was wanted in a sensational case of murder of one Nadir Shah in front of his Gym in the night of 12.09.2024.

Mr. Manoj C., IPS , Dy. Commissioner of Police. Special Cell, said, he was asked to stop and surrender by the police team. However, finding himself cornered, he started firing on the police team without any provocation. Members of team also fired in self-defense in which Yogesh @ Raju sustained gunshot injury in his left leg. One semi-automatic pistol of .32 bore with 7 live cartridges was recovered from Yogesh @ Raju.

Thereafter, specific information was received that Yogesh @ Raju would come in the jurisdiction of Mathura Refinery, Mathura (U.P.) between 04:00 am to 05:00 am on 17.10.24 on Apache bike to meet his associate. Consequently, a team comprising of Special Cell sleuths and staff from PS Mathura Refinery, Mathura was formed and a trap was laid near Agra Mathura Highway Service road, near Baad Railway Station, District Mathura (U.P.). At about 04:25 am, one person riding on a bike was spotted coming in Agra Mathura Highway Service Road.

The injured Yogesh @ Raju was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital, Mathura and a case vide FIR No. 261/2024, dated 17.10.24, u/s 109/317 BNS & 3/25 Arms Act was registered at PS Mathura Refinery, Mathura, UP in this regard.

Accused Yogesh @ Raju killed a boy by stabbing with knife in Kashganj (UP) in the year 2018. He was released on bail in this case in 2022 and came to Delhi. Thereafter, he joined gang of gangster Chhenu Pahalwan but he was not satisfied with the share/remuneration he received for his involvement. Then, he joined Hashim Baba gang in the year 2023.

Yogesh @ Raju is a notorious and desperate criminal who has previously been involved in 5 criminal cases including murder, Arms Act etc. in Delhi and U.P. Presently, he was wanted in a murder case of Greater Kailash (presently investigating by Special Cell).
