A team from the SDH Derabassi, led by the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), visited our society, Silvercity Themes, on Thursday to raise awareness on dengue fever. The team conducted a thorough inspection of pots and areas prone to water logging to check for dengue larvae and distributed pamphlets to residents, educating them on the prevention and symptoms of the disease.

Dengue fever, a viral infection transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes, poses a significant health risk, affecting millions worldwide each year. The disease can be prevented by eliminating mosquito breeding sites, using mosquito nets and repellents, and wearing full-body covering clothing.

The SMO stressed the importance of community involvement in preventing mosquito breeding sites and shared information on symptoms, precautions, and the need for immediate medical attention if symptoms arise. RWA President Mr Suri thanked the medical team and honoured with a bouquet, to Mr Nitin Jindal, Lion's club president.
