Born in July 1986, Tejaswini’s early years were marked by severe health complications, leaving her bedridden for nine years. However, her mother’s relentless efforts to nurture her talent changed the course of her life. Harsh introduced Tejaswini to devotional music, and despite her inability to read, write, or see, Tejaswini mastered the art by listening to her mother sing. Today, her voice has touched hearts across the nation, earning her prestigious accolades like the Roll Model of India award from former President Pratibha Patil.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of women empowerment has been a guiding force for the nation. Initiatives like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, launched from Haryana’s Panipat in 2015, and Haryana’s innovative Bima Sakhi scheme demonstrate a commitment to empowering women. Harsh Sharma appeals to both the Prime Minister and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to introduce more initiatives aimed at bringing differently-abled children into the mainstream.
Tejaswini’s journey is a beacon of hope and a call to action for society to support and uplift such children. By recognizing their potential and providing them with opportunities, we can build a more inclusive future.
Harsh Sharma and Tejaswini’s story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless possibilities of women empowerment. Their journey deserves to be celebrated not only at the United Nations but also as an inspiration for every household in India. It is a moment of pride for Haryana, and the government is urged to share their story widely to encourage and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
