In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gang Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in collaboration with the SAS Nagar Police, successfully busted an organised criminal module operated by notorious gangster Manjeet Mahal jailed in tihar. The joint operation resulted in the arrest of three of his operatives, who have a long history of criminal activities in Haryana and Delhi. The SSP of SAS Nagar, Deepak Pareek, provided details about the operation and the arrested accused in a press briefing.
Brefing about this SSP deepak pareek said, the AGTF Punjab and SAS Nagar Police have been closely monitoring the activities of arrested persons on secret information , who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. The joint operation was conducted based on intelligence gathered by the agencies, which led to the arrest of three of his operatives. The arrested accused have a criminal history with multiple cases registered against them in Haryana and Delhi.

SSP said that the Preliminary interrogation of the accused revealed that the accused were planning to execute sensational crimes in the state on the directions of their handler Manjit Mahal.
Addressing the media, SSP Pareek stated that under the leadership of DGP Punjab, Sh. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, and DIG Ropar Range, Smt. Nilambari Jagdale, IPS, the operation led to the arrest of three key operatives of this gang.
The police team included SP (R) Manpreet Singh, DSP sub division derabassi Bikramjit Singh Brar, and the In-Charge of the Anti-Narcotic Cell Sub Inspector Surjeet Singh, among others. Those who were arrested are Iqbal Singh alias Vinay, a native of Kiradi Suleman Nagar, New Delhi, Gulshan Kumar alias Monu alias Lefty, a resident of Peeragadhi Camp, New Delhi. Anf Satish Kumar, a resident of Mokampura, Amritsar.
Police has recovered Two .30 calibre pistols with 18 live cartridges, A black-colored Scorpio vehicle. He said that Iqbal Singh and Gulshan Kumar were apprehended near Dappar near lalru, Mohali. Their disclosures led to the subsequent arrest of their associate, Satish Kumar, in Amritsar. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the arrested individuals had entered Punjab to execute a high-profile crime.
They have extensive criminal records, with multiple cases of heinous crimes registered against them in Haryana and Delhi. An FIR (No. 173) U/s 25(6)(7) of the Arms Act, dated November 24. 2024, has been registered at Police Station Lalru. Further investigations are underway to uncover additional details and potential accomplices.
The arrest of these three operatives is a significant blow to the organised criminal activities of Manjeet Mahal and his gang. The AGTF Punjab and SAS Nagar Police have once again demonstrated their commitment to maintaining law and order in the state and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
