The 88th birthday of late Abdul Rasheed Qureshi Advocate, Founder Patron-in-chief of Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation was celebrated at the Democratic Lawn of Lahore High Court Bar.
Jalil Ahmad Khan Advocate Supreme Court, Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi Advocate, Shahbaz Rasheed Qureshi Advocate, Rana Shahid, Choudhary Zubair Ahmad Farooq Advocate Supreme Court, Syed Ali Haider Shah Advocate, Dr. Ali Mian Jan, Manzoor Ali Bhatti and Manwar Hussain Khokhar attended the event. The participants remembered late Abdul Rasheed Qureshi with reverence.
Paying tribute and appreciating his services to the country, the dignitaries said that Abdul Rashid Qureshi was born on December 11, 1936 at Abohar. The family migrated to Multan in Pakistan after partition of the country and later settled at Lahore.
The speakers said that Rasheed Qureshi always did the politics of principles, he contributed to the stability of Pakistan by playing his full role. Endured 25 times of imprisonment for the restoration of the constitution and democracy, in 1977 he was a candidate for the Provincial Assembly of the National Unity, while he was elected a member of the Punjab Bar Council by getting votes polled from all over Punjab for the welfare of lawyers.
At the end of the ceremony, the birthday cake was cut and a special prayer was offered for the elevation of late Abdul Rasheed Qureshi.
