The two-day Christmas celebration concluded with pomp and gaiety under the guidance of Father Thomas, Director and Sr Elsa Maria, Principal of Assumption Convent School here.
Sandeep Jakhar MLA was the chief guest of the function. He was warmly welcomed at the function. The MLA remembered 40 years old initial schooling and complimented the students who had brought laurels in various ways.
The school premises were decorated with colourful lights, and the entire area was bedecked with flowers. The programme began with an invocation to God and the whole hall was filled with the Holy Eucharist.
Melodic, Merriment, Birth of Saviour, Joyful Jingle, Giddha, Bhangra and patriotic songs were the centre of attraction. More than 400 children participated in the Birth of the Saviour dance, taking on the forms of Mary, Joseph, angels, fairies, shepherds, kings, and the infant Jesus. The children were welcomed into the programme by Santa Claus. All the children seemed eager to get the toffees given by Santa.
