Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha President and daughter of former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Jai Inder Kaur, today interacted with the widows of the 1984 Anti-Sikh Massacre victims at Widow Colony, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi.

In a statement released here, Jai Inder Kaur said, "It is heart-wrenching to hear the stories of what these ladies had to endure during the Anti-Sikh Massacre in 1984 in Delhi. Over 40 years have passed, but their wounds are still fresh. What happened in Delhi to these Sikh families wasn't a riot; it was a state-sponsored massacre carried out by the then Congress government and its leaders."

Expressing further concern, she said, "Their struggle stories bring tears to everyone’s eyes. They also feel betrayed by local AAP MLA Jarnail Singh. Being a Sikh himself, they had high hopes from him, but he has left them deeply disappointed. He promised to adopt their children and ensure good jobs, free electricity, and property rights for these families, who have been residing in the colony since 1986. However, according to them, after winning his first election 10 years ago, he never returned to them and has completely backtracked on his promises."

She further said, "What is even more shameful is that the Congress party is still trying to shield those leaders who were at the forefront of this tragedy, and they remain part of the party. After that dark chapter in our country's history, the Congress party ruled the capital for many years, yet did nothing to support these women, whose entire families were brutally murdered, their houses burned, and who had to relocate and rebuild their lives from scratch."

She added, "Not only the Congress party, but the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also no different. They have ruled the state for 10 years now, and despite promising these families ownership rights, jobs, and free electricity before elections, they have not fulfilled even a single promise. These families feel deeply betrayed."

She further said, "The Sikh community has always been at the forefront of nation-building and service, yet they were subjected to unimaginable horrors in 1984. It is our collective responsibility to stand with them and ensure that their sacrifices are not forgotten. We must continue to press for justice and meaningful support for their rehabilitation."

Jai Inder Kaur further said, "Unlike previous governments, the BJP has always stood firmly with the victims and worked towards their welfare. Our party remains committed to providing justice, support, and dignity to these families."

In a video of the interaction, elderly women can be seen emotionally sharing their experiences with Jai Inder Kaur. Even after so many years, they continue to struggle for justice as well as basic amenities.
