In the program “Ek Shaam Lata Mangeshkar Ke Naam” organized by Rashtriya Kala Mandir at Sriganganagar, local artist Yukta, Mannat Thakral of Fazilka and Simran Bhatia of Tohana enthralled the audience with their renditions of melodious songs from the golden era of Indian cinema. They performed Lata Mangeshkar's most popular songs in a very composed manner.
The program started with a bhajan sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Mannat Thakral presented Lata’s superhit number Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo. The audience stood up and applauded her. After this, the three presented songs like Kanto Se Khinch Kar Aanchal…. Lag Jaa Gale Ke Phir Ye Haseen Raat…, Yeh Sama Sama Hai Pyar Ka…., Moriya Aachho Bolyo Dhalti Re Sham Ne…, Rangeela Re Tere Pyar Mein…, Solah Baras Ki Bali Umar Ko Salaam…, Chalte Chalte Yun Hi Koi Mil Gaya Tha…, Pardesiya Yeh Sach Hai Piya… etc.
Rhythm Guru Sunil Maurya on Tabla, Pandit Vasudev on Dholak, Pankaj Pahwa on Keyboard and Kuldeep Arora on Octapad accompanied. Maurya also gave a wonderful performance of Swarnaad and Shankh sound on Tabla.
