The Indian Overseas Congress (IOC), has continued its strong objection to the disgraceful treatment of Indian deportees by the US government after the IOC, UK, has called on the Indian government to take proactive steps to strengthen diplomatic ties with the United States (US) and has urged the US government to review and overhaul its deportation process.
“We urge the US government to review its deportation processes to ensure that the fundamental human rights of migrants are respected, and we also call for more support for these individuals upon their return,” said Kamal Dhaliwal, President of IOC UK while emphasising that the Deportation should not come at the cost of dignity and humanity.
Earlier on Wednesday, the IOC US condemned the maltreatment of the Indian deportees by the Trump administration.
He informed that the IOC UK held a meeting on Thursday and gave a call for the establishment of stronger diplomatic and consular assistance to protect the rights of Indian nationals in the US facing deportation.

“We have requested the Indian government for the establishment of more effective reintegration programs to help migrants navigate the challenges of returning to India, particularly those who have been away for many years and are unfamiliar with local conditions,” said he.
The IOC, UK, has also called on Indian authorities to address the issue of mistreatment with US officials and to extend legal, financial, and familial support to returning migrants.
