Indigo Rewind marked a dazzling conclusion to Mood Indigo 2024, delivering a heartwarming and electrifying experience for attendees. Held as a standalone event, this reimagined day of Asia’s largest cultural festival became an unforgettable celebration of art, music, and community. The initiative allowed the core team, coordinators, and attendees to relive the magic of Mood Indigo and reclaim what they had missed—a proper ending to the fest that symbolizes unity and resilience.
The success of Indigo Rewind went beyond expectations. Held during a buzzing campus season in February, the campus brimmed with energy as familiar faces came together, accompanied by the vibrant presence of outsiders who had traveled specifically for this unique experience. Indigo Rewind wasn’t just an event—it was a testament to the unwavering spirit of the organizing team and the festival’s cultural legacy.
The event featured a stellar lineup that kept audiences engaged throughout the day. The afternoon kicked off with an In Conversation session featuring Bollywood luminaries Boman Irani and Avinash Tiwary, who shared compelling stories from their journeys in cinema and about their upcoming movie The Mehta Brothers, inspiring the audience with their wisdom and humor. Following this, the "Best of Competitions" session started with a conversation with the charismatic duo Siddharth Nigam and Apoorva Arora who were the judges for this event, they brought lively anecdotes and entertainment to the stage. Adding to the excitement, Ravi Gupta had the audience in splits with his hilarious stand-up comedy act, proving to be a showstopper in its own right.
In the evening, the much-anticipated Pronites lit up the Gymkhana Grounds. The stage belonged to music maestro Mithoon and the spirited Kabir Cafe, whose harmonious blend of traditional poetry and modern melodies mesmerized the audience. The performance was a perfect crescendo to the day, with their soulful tunes uniting thousands of hearts under the night sky.
The emotional highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Stage Moment. As the final chords of Mithoon’s performance faded, the coordinators took the stage, arms linked, singing the Mood Indigo anthem together. The Gymkhana Grounds reverberated with their voices, as the team laughed, cried, and embraced, reliving their shared journey and celebrating their resilience. For the organizing team, it was a long-overdue moment of pride and joy—a fitting and heartfelt closure to their monumental efforts.
However, Indigo Rewind was more than just a festival day—it was a chance to heal a wound left behind by the sudden cancellation of Day 3 of Mood Indigo in December. Originally scheduled for 27th December, Day 3 had to be called off due to the unfortunate passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, with the President declaring a national mourning period. The news was announced at 3 a.m. on the same day in an All-Team Meet called by the OCs, Arjun Bora and Kaushal Pandey. The decision left a palpable void, especially for the Mood Indigo CGs and coordinators who had poured their hearts into organizing the festival. The cherished Stage Moment—where coordinators sing the Mood Indigo anthem together, celebrating months of relentless effort—was left unrealized, leaving many feeling incomplete.
Determined to provide the closure the team and festival deserved, the OCs, with the support of the Dean, initiated the plan for Indigo Rewind. In February, the entire organizing team came together once again, channeling the same energy and dedication to create a spectacular event. This time, the festival saw even greater participation from the IIT Bombay community, making it a deeply personal and cherished experience for everyone involved.

Indigo Rewind wasn’t just a celebration; it was a victory over adversity. It showed that the spirit of Mood Indigo is unyielding, a shining example of how a community can come together to create something beautiful, even in the face of challenges. As the curtains fell on this remarkable event, one thing was clear—the memories of Indigo Rewind will live on, etched in the hearts of all who were a part of it.
