Pujya Brahmavihari Swami was honored at the “Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards 2025” by Lokmat, a prestigious media group for making outstanding contributions to society.
At the event, held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, Governor of Maharashtra C.P. Radhakrishnan was the chief guest. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar were other dignitaries.
The event also recognized Devendra Fadnavis with a Special Award for his impactful leadership and services to Maharashtra. Other distinguished award recipients included Sanjiv Bajaj (Chairman and MD, Bajaj Finserv), Kartik Aaryan (Indian Film Actor) and Deven Bharti (Special Commissioner, Mumbai Police).
Brahmavihari Swami was honored by the Governor of Maharashtra for his remarkable contributions to international relations, humanitarian service, and interfaith harmony through BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering global unity, overseeing humanitarian projects, and strengthening cultural ties across nations. He played a key role in leading the construction of the historic BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, the first traditional Hindu mandir in the Middle East.
During the peak of the Russia-Ukraine war, he led the BAPS relief efforts at the Poland-Ukraine border, assisting Indian nationals and global citizens in their safe evacuation.
The event also recognized Devendra Fadnavis with a Special Award for his impactful leadership and services to Maharashtra.
