CBI COURT SENTENCES SIX ACCUSED INCLUDING TWO EMPLOYEES OF HPCL AND 4 OTHERS TO 2 YEARS’ RI WITH FINE OF RS 3 LAKH

The Hon’ble Court of ACJM (SPE Cases), Jaipur has sentenced six accused including two employees of HPCL namely Vivek Raju and Manish Arora and four private persons namely Sheikh Akram, Abu Bakar Sheikh, Gurendra Pal Singh & Dukhbhanjan Singh Saini to two years’ Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with total fine of Rs. 3 lakh in two cases related to criminal conspiracy and cheating for obtaining delivery of solvent on forged documents. 

CBI had registered two separate cases on 30.10.1998 and 08.03.1999 against accused including those convicted by the court. It was alleged that accused entered a conspiracy and in pursuance thereof made wrongful gain of Rs. 64 lakh and Rs. 1.37 crore respectively, in the two cases, to themselves by obtaining delivery of solvents on the basis of forged documents viz. C-forms and other false documents. 

After completion of the investigation, Charge Sheets were filed by CBI on 18.12.2000 against the accused persons before the Court of Hon’ble ACJM (SPE Cases), Jaipur. 

The Court, after trial, found accused guilty and sentenced them accordingly.
