Incharge of the Abohar city-2 police station, Promila Sidhu, visited the Samarth Old Age Home in Nai Abadi to celebrate her birthday with the inmates. The building also has Udbhav Awas, home for orphaned or deserted children. The institute was founded by Sumedha Kataria, a retired IAS officer who belongs to Abohar.
Shri Balaji Manav Seva Samiti president Rajat Luthra and secretary Bhim Chachan welcomed the police official and explained the facilities being provided to women and girls. They informed that the helpless daughters living here were taught sewing and embroidery work along with school education at a well-equipped computer center and library.
Promila was joined by the inmates in a cake ceremony, the latter sang Happy Birthday song and wished her a bright career. She distributed some essentials for the inmates and assured all kinds of help to help them feel comfortable.
