Sleuths belonging to Punjab police have arrested two drug smugglers and have recovered 1.13 kg heroin at Kulgarhi.
While divulging details, Bhupinder Singh SSP said that a trap was laid near Kulgarhi village during which the accused identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh and Sunny both residents of Mallewala village, were nabbed while they were waiting for a customer at the grain market at Sande Hasham village.
SSP Bhupinder Singh said that during the last one month, the police have recovered 26 kg heroin, 11600 intoxicating tablets, drug money of 3.28 lakh and have nabbed 208 accused in 97 cases.
The SSP said that a raid was conducted during which the accused were nabbed and during the frisking, 1.13 kg heroin was recovered from them.
The accused had been booked under NDPS Act at Kulgarhi police station (FIR No. 35 Dated 08.04.12).
In other case registered under NDPS Act, one person identified as Jarnail Singh resident of Rana Punjgrain village in Guruharsahai was nabbed and 4.8 kg poppy husk was recovered from him.
At Zira, two person identified as Amarjit Singh alias Amba and Rinku (both resident of Zira city area ) were nabbed and 540 intoxicating tablets were recovered following which the accused were booked under NDPS Act (FIR No 28 Dated 08.04.25).
