Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Banur, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), will launch a special certificate course in Footwear Manufacturing and Retail from April 21. This unique program is designed specifically for defense personnel who are nearing retirement from active service.
The course aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to tap into the growing employment and self-employment opportunities in the footwear industry.
The objective of this program is to familiarize the participants with the latest technologies, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and environmental regulations in the footwear sector.
Additionally, the course will prepare them for roles in middle-level management, inventory management, quality control, and logistics.
Director, Ms. Pragya Singh stated that this three-month short-term course has been curated to help participants not only find new job opportunities but also become capable of launching their own businesses.The course will provide hands-on training in FDDI’s modern campus, covering all aspects of footwear production and retailing.This training initiative is enriched with expertise focused on skill development, employment generation, and entrepreneurship opportunities as per the demands of the industry.
