A Civic Outreach Programme “Know Your Forces”, menace of Drug Abuse and Weapon display was organized by 19 Bn BSF at BSF Campus Rampura.
The event was inaugurated by Nidhin Thomos Simon, Deputy Commandant. Students and staff from Atam Vallabh Public Senior Secondary School attended the programme.
The Deputy Commandant sensitized the students against the drug menace prevailing in the society and urged them to abstain from any kind of drug addiction and also play a proactive role in combating this menace which is detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the society.
A powerpoint presentation was organised for the students to highlight the role, tasks and the efficiency of the Border Security Force as regards its primary role of safeguarding the borders and territorial integrity of the nation and also the trans-border crimes emanating from the international border contiguous to our western and eastern neighbours. Young students were also given insight into the varying terrain and operational conditions in which the forces are to operate for the national security as well as to save the society from the crimes having trans-border origins.

The event was followed by a weapon display to showcase the strength of the force to meet the operational challenges and it was widely appreciated by the students.
