Cyber Police Station reported to have arrested an accused from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh in the case of cheating a person of Rs 83 lakh by showing fear of digital arrest and posing as a police officer. The arrested accused has been produced in the court and three days police remand has been obtained. So far five accused have been arrested in this case and the police believes that other accused may also be arrested soon.
Cyber Police Station in-charge Manish Kumar, said a case of fraud in the name of digital arrest had come to light. The accused had committed online fraud of Rs 83 lakh.
Police said that two lakh rupees of fraud was transferred to the account of the arrested youth and after that this money was transferred further. Now in this case, it will be investigated in which accounts the fraudulent money has been transferred and whoever is involved will also be arrested.
Police earlier arrested four accused and now the fifth accused Sandeep Kumar who is a resident of Baghpat UP and the accused has been produced in the court and three days police remand has been obtained. Police said that so far five accused have been arrested in this case and the arrested accused will be questioned in this case and who all are involved in this case He will also be arrested.
Police said that the accused called a person through video call and extorted money by showing fear of digital arrest and introducing themselves as police officers. After the arrest of this accused, a total of five accused have been arrested in the case.
