1,73,754 VOTERS TO EXERCISE THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE IN FAZILKA DISTRICT

1,73,754 voters will exercise their right to vote in the civic bodies’ elections in Fazilka district on Tuesday. Out of them 91,474 are men and 82,272 are women while 8 are other voters.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu said that all preparations have been completed for the elections for the Municipal Corporation Abohar, Municipal Council Fazilka and Nagar Panchayat Arniwala and today the polling parties have left for their respective duty stations.

The DC said that 335 candidates are contesting the elections. A total of 189 polling booths have been set up in 86 wards in the district. 50 wards and 120 polling booths have been set up in Municipal Corporation Abohar, 25 wards and 58 polling booths in Municipal Council Fazilka and 11 wards, 11 polling booths have been set up in Nagar Panchayat Arniwala where voting will be held on May 26 from 8 am to 5 pm.

She appealed to the voters to exercise their vote without any fear, intimidation or greed and become responsible citizens
