The entertainment show led by producer, director, writer, actor, and singer Dr. Engineer Rajendra Jaina has now expanded beyond Delhi to Chandigarh. A special event titled “An Evening Dedicated to the Elderly” was organized at Kartar Asra Ashram in Chandigarh, where a musical evening featuring popular songs from the golden era was presented for the residents of the ashram.

On this occasion, Dr. E. Rajendra Jaina shared that singing is his hobby, but through it, he also reflects on those who are left alone in the hustle of life. He emphasized that while many people provide clothes and food to the elderly living in old-age homes, their needs go far beyond that. The most important thing, he said, is to spend time with them, listen to their stories, understand their experiences, and bring joy into their lives. This thought inspired the organization of the event.

Mrs. Monica also expressed her happiness at being part of the program, saying that she felt deeply touched and learned a lot from the experience.

During the program, Dr. Rajendra Jaina performed several evergreen songs that were highly appreciated by the audience. Many elderly residents came forward to share their life experiences, lightening their hearts. Some sang songs, while several women even danced joyfully. The most exciting moment came when Dr. Jaina performed songs like “O Janeman Dilara – Ek Nazar Idhar Bhi,” “Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisar,” “Shokhiyon Mein Ghola Jaye,” “Pyar Baantte Chalo,” and “Dil Karta O Yaar Dildara”, prompting all the residents to sing and dance together.

On this occasion, the muhurat (ceremonial launch) of Dr. Rajendra Jaina’s upcoming film “Bedakhal” was also performed. The clap for the film was given by Founder and Chairperson of Kartar Aasra Trust, Mataji Charan Kamal Kaur. She expressed her happiness, noting that Dr. Jaina brought immense joy to the elderly, making them sing and dance with visible happiness on their faces. She prayed to Waheguru for the successful completion of the film and hoped that its shooting would also take place in the ashram and the Gurudwara.

Film critic, creative film director, and senior journalist Suniel Parashar encouraged everyone to learn a new way of living. He suggested that just as people once adopted children, those without parents could consider adopting elderly individuals to complete their families.

The program truly embodied the spirit of “An Evening Dedicated to the Elderly,” where music, emotions, and human compassion came together beautifully.

Impressed by the wonderful entertainment, the General Manager of the ashram, Baljit Singh, expressed his desire for Dr. Rajendra Jaina to organize such programs every month, bringing new light and enthusiasm into the lives of the elderly.

Representatives from the organization Life Carry On — Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Gopal, and Mumtaz — were also present. Shafiq-ur-Rehman stated that such programs serve as an inspiration for everyone.
