25-YEAR-OLD FALLS FROM KINNOW MANDI SHED, DIED

A youth, aged about 25 years, was found at the yard of Kinnow Mandi here with blood-soaked clothes.

Preliminary reports reportedly suggested that the victim was perhaps attempting to remove lights from the shed of the Kinnow Mandi located near the main grain market and fell from a height of about 15 feet late last night. He died on the spot.

On receiving information, Nar Sewa Narayan Sewa Samiti volunteers and the police reached the spot. The deceased was identified as Gurvinder of Jammu Basti. The police have sent the deceased’s body to the mortuary for post-mortem and have started investigating.

Reports indicated that people saw an unknown youth lying dead at about 8 am under the shed in the Kinnow Mandi and informed the Samiti and the police. Samiti’s representative Bittu Narula and City-1 police team reached the spot and began an investigation.

It reportedly surfaced that an electric wire and a light fixture from the shed were lying near the deceased. It is being suspected that the youth might have climbed onto the shed and fell while removing the lights. The information was being verified.
