CHANDIGARH POLICE NABS FIVE ACCUSED HYPNOTISING LADIES AND LOOTING GOLD ORNAMENTS AND CASH

In a major breakthrough, the team of District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police acting upon the direction of W/SSP Ms. Kanwardeep Kaurand close guidance of DSP/DCC Sh. Vijay, under the supervision of Insp. Jaspal Singh Bhullar got a major success by arresting 5 gang members of cheaters/hypnotist/bluffers, who hypnotise the innocents ladies on the pretext of helping her and looted their valuables specially Gold ornaments and cash. With their arrest 2 cases i.e. one of PS-Manimajra and one of PS-34 were solved.

Case- 1 : Case FIR No. 59/2025 u/s 318 (2), 3 (5) BNS PS-Manimajra was registered on the complaint of Smt. Sunita W/o Deepak R/O H.no. 142, Sector- 20 Panchkula (HR) Age-40 Years, who reported that on 23.07.2025 she came to Manimajra market for shopping and at about 03:50 PM while she was going from bus stand towards old Ropar road on foot, meanwhile two boys came and started walking with her. They engagedher in conversationand took away her gold earrings.

Case-2 : Case FIR No. 67 dated 15.5.2025 u/s 316 (2), 318(4), 60 BNS PS-34, Chandigarh was registered on the complaint of Mrs. Om Kumari w/o Ravi R/o # 1041, Sector 45, Chandigarh, wherein she alleged three persons met her on the way and they engaged herin conversation and one of them threw a handful dust on her face, she felt unconscious and she took off her ornaments i.e. Mangal Sutra, ear Ring and finger ring and handed over to them.

Apprehension of accused : A secret information was received that the persons who looted the ladies by hypnotizing are roaming in Chandigarh for selling the looted jewellery and also looking for another prey in the area of Sector 45 and Industrial area. Acting promptly on the information two teams were constituted. With sustain efforts and reliable information three persons namely Hasmudin, Zahid and Alam were apprehended from the area of Sector 45C, Chandigarh in case FIR No. 67/2025 PS-34, Chandigarh and Jilani and Ramjaan were arrested from near cremation ground, Industrial Area, Chandigarh in case FIR No. 59/2025 PS-Manimajra on 14.1.2026.

Profile of accused: Jilani S/o Naksada R/o Jhuggi No. 23, Shiv colony, Ludhiana, Punjab, Aged 46.,  Ramjaan S/o Rajaan Shah R/o Gali No. 10 TC Complex H.No. 426, B-1, GalianandParvat, New Delhi. Aged 36 years.,  Hasmudin S/o Peer Mohd. R/o Vasundra Railway Line, Mangal Bazar, Gaziabad UP. Aged 45 years.,  Zahid s/o Shokat R/o Jhuggi No. S-66/100 Partab Nagar Nehru Nagar, South Delhi. Aged 24 years.and Alam S/o Aajub Shah R/o # 418, Vill. PepleraDistt. Hawpur, Teh. Dohlana UP, Aged 33 Years.

Modus operandi

They prey the uneducated or innocent ladies, first of all they talked about the situation of her family, when she engaged in conversation, they performed the feat of magicalfire by using sodium through spit on hand, just as sodium catch fire on water. Then they asked to ladies took off their jewellery and placed on the ground. Furthermore, they asked her go to home and not look back.

Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the involvement of the accused in similar incidents. They accused will be produced before the hon’ble court.
