PUBLIC SCREENING OF THE MATCH IN THE OPEN PUBLIC SPACES IS ALLOWED ONLY WITH PRIOR PERMISSION FROM THE DC OFFICE.

In light of the upcoming Cricket World Cup final match between India and Australia on Sunday, at Ahmedabad, Chandigarh Police has already issued a public advisory urging residents to adhere to certain restrictions.

Chandigarh Administration urges residents of Chandigarh to enjoy the Cricket World Cup Final match with sense of self-discipline and sensitivity towards other residents in their vicinity.

Mr. Vinay Partap Singh, IAS, Distt. Magistrate said, to ensure that the Cricket World Cup is enjoyed in a befitting manner, residents are hereby requested to adhere to following regulations:-

A) Public screening of the match in the open public spaces is allowed only with prior permission from the DC Office. Organisers to submit applications by 7 PM on 18.11.2023 at DC Office with permission from relevant land owning Department.(SUBHEAD)

B) No processions in any form will be allowed before, during, or after the match.

C) Loud music through music systems, sound-producing systems, sound amplifiers (such as DJs, Car Music Systems, Dholls, Drum Beats, etc.) can be played at any public place only as per regulations under the Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules, 2000, framed under the Environment Protection Act. However, public screening of cricket match can continue beyond 10 PM at normal sound levels only.

It is emphasized that those permitted by the District Magistrate for the public screening of the match must ensure strict compliance of above regulations to uphold law and order in the city. Any violation of the regulations will be strictly dealt with.

The office of District Magistrate is open today and tomorrow (i.e. 18-19 November) for obtaining permissions regarding the screening of the match. Chandigarh Administration conveys its best wishes to Indian Cricket Team and Chandigarh residents for World Cup Final match against Australia.
