The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday caught a Sub-Inspector Varun Chichi, \posted at Police Barakhamba Road, New Delhi while accepting bribe of Rs 4.5 Lakh from the Complainant and another SI Rajesh Yadav posted at same police station.
A case was registered on complaint against a Sub-Inspector of Police Station Barakhambha Road, New Delhi on the allegations of demanding bribe.
It was alleged that the Complainant working in a private company whose MD was an accused in a FIR No.16/2018 registered at Police Station Barakhambha Road, New Delhi. It was further alleged that around 10 to 12 days ago when the Complainant reached Police Station Barakhambha Road for providing medicines to the said accused of private company who was brought there from Tihar Jail, Delhi, a Sub-Inspector of Police Station demanded a bribe Rs. 25 Lakh from him for not arresting and implicating his daughter & his Son in law in the said FIR.'
It was also alleged that the said Sub Inspector agreed to accept the part payment of Rs. 5 Lakh out of demanded Rs. 25 Lakh from the Complainant.
CBI laid a trap and caught another Sub-Inspector of said Police Station while accepting the bribe/undue advantage of Rs. 4.5 Lakh from the Complainant, as per directions of said Sub-Inspector of Police Station Barakhambha Road, New Delhi.
Searches are being conducted at the premises of both the Sub Inspectors.
