PRE-DIWALI CELEBRATION HELD AT CHILD CARE INSTITUTIONS

An initiative was taken by Ms. Palika Arora, Member Secretary UTCPS-cum-Director Social Welfare in order to organize a reunion of orphan and abandoned Young Adults wherein a pre-Diwali event was celebrated on Saturday at Children's Home Snehalaya for Boys & Girls alongwith young adults residing in After Cate Home for Girls & boys and also young adutls who have left Institutional Care after attaining the age of 21 years. The said program was organized by the office of Union Territory Child Protection Society under the aegis of the Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh.

(SUBHEAD)The aim of program was to reconnect with young adults who have left after care homes and are pursuing different career opportunities in their respective lives, in order to make them feel as an integral part of this extended family.

Approx. 244 children and young adutls attended the program wherein they all shared some cheerful moments together. The Young Adults who have left institutional care shared their experiences and motivated children & other young adutls to do better in academics, stay focussed towards their goal, to pursue career as per their interest and to be financially independent.

During the celebration, children and young adutls enjoyed multi cusine such as chinese, North Indian food alongwith desert, put up for them within the Children's Home. The program ended with lots of joyful and cheerful moments.
